ICC World Cup 2023: Pakistan’s Objection to Playing in India and the ICC’s Decision

The most talked-about match in this World Cup is the one-day match between India and Pakistan. While India-Pakistan matches always garner immense attention during ICC events, Pakistan has raised objections this time due to the tournament being held in India. Prior to the ICC World Cup, the Asia Cup will be organised in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Due to security concerns, the Indian team declined to go to Pakistan to participate in the Asia Cup. As a result, the Pakistan Cricket Board expressed its displeasure and announced that it would not travel to India to play in the ODI World Cup. While the Asian Cricket Council agreed to hold a third-place match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup, the decision regarding the ICC World Cup is still pending with the ICC. The ICC has made it clear that Pakistan must come to India and play against India in the World Cup.
